Satoshi Yoshikawa

Collection: Satoshi Yoshikawa

Satoshi Yoshikawa studied ceramics in Okinawa and Bizen, Japan, where he developed his practice through digging his own clay and firing with traditional wood kilns. His work, particularly tea bowls and tea wares for the Japanese tea ceremony, has been exhibited in Tokyo and China.

In 2019, he relocated to Toronto, where he continues his work as a studio potter at MIKA, creating functional tableware and flower vessels.

Grounded in Japanese aesthetics and the spirit of craftsmanship, Yoshikawa seeks to explore new possibilities through the meeting of Japanese and Canadian cultures. His work reflects a commitment to creating thoughtful objects that enrich everyday life and foster meaningful connections between people, traditions, and place.
