Kayo O’Young / soft cream-colored vase2026

This vase was made by Kayo O'Young.

A cream-colored glaze covers the entire surface, with areas where the iron in the glaze has developed reddish tones as a result of reduction firing in a gas kiln. The lower, rounded section was added during the forming process, creating the vase’s distinctive shape.

Kayo’s signature glaze drawing is applied across the surface, bringing a sense of structure and balance to the piece and tying the overall form together.
