Hirota Glass, founded in Tokyo in 1899, is one of the oldest glass manufacturers in the city. Their work reflects a unique fusion of European glassmaking techniques introduced in the modern era and the refined Japanese sense of beauty. By preserving traditional handcrafted skills such as Edo faceting, blown glass, and Edo-style patterns, Hirota Glass continues to create timeless pieces that blend seamlessly with contemporary interiors. Design documents passed down since the company’s founding remain central to their craftsmanship and identity.
This sake glass series offers two elegant shapes designed to enhance different styles of sake.
Hana – Inspired by the soft bloom of a flower, Hana gently lifts the aroma upward and allows the delicate flavors to spread across the palate. It is especially recommended for Daiginjo, where the high-polish rice and added brewing alcohol create a fragrant, refined bouquet.
Tsubomi – With a silhouette reminiscent of a flower bud, Tsubomi softly holds the aroma and flavor of the rice, making it ideal for Junmai-shu, known for its rich and rounded character.
