About Saemidori
Saemidori is a highly prized Japanese tea cultivar known for its soft sweetness, rich umami, and long, lingering finish.
About This Tea
This exceptional gyokuro was hand-picked by Noboru Endo, a third-generation tea master from Asahina, one of Shizuoka's most celebrated regions for gyokuro production. Carefully aged since the 2022 harvest by Wada Choji Shoten, this tea represents a new approach to showcasing the depth and elegance of premium gyokuro.
About Aging
Unlike sencha, gyokuro is especially well suited to aging due to its naturally high amino acid content. Over time, the tea's fresh grassy notes soften, allowing the umami to become rounder, smoother, and more harmonious.
About the Producer
As a third-generation gyokuro producer in Asahina, Noboru Endo carefully hand-picks every leaf to create tea of exceptional quality, honoring generations of craftsmanship while preserving one of Japan's finest tea traditions.
