We’re excited to welcome you to our third Tea Social, this time with a special addition—a matcha tea ritual demonstration with Géo Evans.

Throughout the morning, Tea Social will take place in our main space, while guests take turns in small groups joining Géo in the Tea Room for an intimate matcha experience. Your ticket includes both the Tea Social and Géo’s matcha demonstration.

🍃 Meet Géo Evans

Géo is a practitioner and assistant teacher of chanoyu (茶の湯) in the Ueda Sōko (上田宗箇) Tradition of Warrior Tea, which was officially established during the Momoyama period. He has been a member of Sōmu Shachū (宗夢社中) since 2020.

It is a tradition known for the dignified, elegant movements that make up its tea ceremony. This is achieved through moving in crisp, coherent, straight lines, eliminating all unnecessary movements, and grounding the movements of the ceremony (temae) in forms found in sword and archery practice.

During the demonstration, Géo will guide guests through a simple ritual for usucha (thin matcha), offering a closer look at the characteristic movements of the Ueda Sōko tradition. Afterwards, guests will enjoy the matcha prepared by Géo, accompanied by a special sweet.

🤍 Tea Social

While small groups take turns joining Géo in the Tea Room, Mika will be pouring a wide variety of teas throughout the morning, with special selections from Japan and Taiwan, including MIKA’s original tea blends.

We’ll also have tea stations set up for anyone who’d like to take a turn brewing and pouring tea for fellow guests. Share a pot, discover something new, and connect with each other over tea.

If you'd like, feel free to bring a favourite tea from your own collection to share or exchange with fellow tea lovers. There's absolutely no expectation—whether you bring tea or not, everyone is welcome.

We'll also have a selection of light tea snacks to enjoy throughout the morning.

Important Notes

• We recommend eating breakfast before the workshop, as we’ll be tasting multiple teas and it may contain a fair amount of caffeine.

• The event will move forward once 10 participants are confirmed.

• Cancellations made by Tuesday, Octobert 21st will receive a full refund minus a 3% transaction fee.

• Tickets are non-refundable after October 21nd but may be transferred to a friend if you’re unable to attend.
