Kohiki is an Asian pottery style recognized for its soft, pale surface created by applying white slip over a dark clay body. This traditional technique highlights the contrast between clay and slip, resulting in a naturally textured finish with beautiful depth. During firing, subtle variations emerge, giving each piece a rustic, handmade character that reflects the charm of artisanal craftsmanship.

This plate measures 10.5" D x 1" H, making it a versatile size for daily use or special occasions. It is both dishwasher and microwave safe, and all glazes used are lead-free and fully food safe, ensuring practicality as well as beauty.

Each piece is handmade at MIKA by ceramic artist Satoshi Yoshikawa, whose work blends traditional Japanese techniques with a contemporary sensibility. Because every item is crafted individually, slight differences in texture, color, and finish may appear compared to the image displayed, adding to each piece’s unique appeal.
